MAN CROSSES STREET, STREET SWALLOWS LEG, PEDESTRIANS LOOK ON IN SHOCK
Just when you thought it was safe to cross the street (in the crosswalk!) a man discovered that there are still unforeseen risks, such as stepping into a sinkhole that swallows your leg and traps you in the middle of the street. Astonished onlookers watched him take a step only to see his leg disappear beneath him.
LEG COMPLETELY DISAPPEARS BELOW, MAN TRAPPED AND IN PAIN
Local reports confirm the event, but seeing is believing which is easy to do with amazing video of his rescue. More photos and videos posted to social media show the unknown man sitting weirdly in the middle of a Brooklyn crosswalk late Tuesday morning. It looks weird as his right leg was almost entirely engulfed below him, vanishing into the street’s crosswalk.

INJURED MAN FREED, STREET CLAIMS HIS SHOE BUT NOT HIS LIFE
Three firefighters were filmed working to pull him out of the hole. After some struggle, he was finally freed but lacking one his shoes and exposing a hole that appeared several inches wide in the ground.
The man “seemed to be in a lot of pain,” according to another man that spoke with DNA Info who claimed to work with the victim at a nearby auto repair shop.
“From what I understand he was walking and the ground gave way. I ran over there and he was stuck in the ground, and the fire department was just arriving when I got there,” said Joe Grunbaum of Kings County Autobody, Inc.
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE STREET? NOT TO STEP INTO A SINKHOLE
The man was taken to Woodhull Hospital with minor trauma to his leg, The New York Daily News reported.

There is still no word on the man’s identity or what injuries he may have sustained. There is also no news yet as to how this could have happened, or if pedestrians in the area should be concerned that this could happen to them as well. So be alert because if you aren’t, it could cost you an arm, but more likely a leg.
