I’m not too into TikTok. I signed up shortly after it became a little bit of a thing. But I’ve never really used it. Though I must say I get TikTok spam emails all the time, and the titles don’t seem all that SFW. So I have no clue that mixing Fruit Roll-Ups into ice cream has become a total viral craze because of TikTok. I must have missed that email. But this craze is real, and has led to some serious shortages of Fruit Roll-Ups in Israel. So much so, that Americans are now attempting to smuggle the totally weird snack in large volume to meet the demand.

So why would Americans smuggle Fruit Roll-Ups into Israel? To make a serious buck while the TikTok craze has demand so high. It’s not like you can easily smuggle ice cream onto a plane, though there still seems to be plenty of that in Israel. But yes, we’re talking about mark-up profits for a snack that make it worthwhile to smuggle. Usually, a box of 10 Fruit Roll-Ups costs about $3. But the craze has a single one of these stupid things selling for $8, or $80 a damn box. That could be why one couple tried to smuggle in an astounding 375 pounds of Fruit Roll-Ups in April.

I’m going to hazard a guess and say that if they had gotten that astounding amount thru, it would have paid for their round trip tickets, and a sweet Tel Aviv luxury vacation to boot. Instead, they’re now listed as smugglers. But not of drugs, no. Fruit Roll-Up snacks! So now I have to tell my wife, a self-proclaimed sugar addict, about this viral craze. That means I’ll have to eat this silly snack mixed into ice cream in the next few days.
