RUSH LIMBAUGH IS DEAD, AND BY MY JUDGEMENT, HE LEAVES AN UGLY LEGACY OF HATE
Rush Limbaugh is dead. So this is a tough one to write about. Because, well, of the saying. If you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all? But that just won’t suffice here. We are, after all, talking about Rush Limbaugh. The man who did an inordinate amount of the work that turned our Republic’s culture into wormwood. Sure, that’s wordy. But I’m trying to swear off swear words here. And, it’s hard. I won’t miss the man at all. In fact, it’s an easy judgement to say that the world is a better place now that he’s gone.

RUSH LIMBAUGH FOSTERED HATE TO WOMEN, LGBTQ, PROGRESSIVES, MINORITIES, ANYONE NOT WHITE, MALE AND CONSERVATIVE
So sure, that may sound harsh. But it’s an understatement. Pick a group of minorities of any stripe, anyone not white/straight/conservative, and Limbaugh has targeted them with infectious hate. Oh, and women. All women. Except the ones who knew their place, subservient to their patriarchal betters. Just ask his 4 ex-wives. And, to be fair, in a certain sense I am honoring Rush Limbaugh in this not-sad-to-see-you-go screed. He relished slamming people just after they died. And, well, I’m not really slamming him here. But I am noting, strongly, how much of a cancer he was.

QNANON LUNACY IS BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF HATE RADIO, AND RUSH LIMBAUGH WAS KING
Well, and is. Because the people that he infected with his early hate-radio diatribes aren’t close to a cure. In fact, many of them will need to follow him to the grave and have a frank conversation with St. Peter to, um, come back to Earth, as it were. Because the foundation of reality from the QAnon folks is Rush Limbaugh. The idea, in America, to make hate a mass-market success story came from Limbaugh’s climb to the top of his own, hateful hill. But no matter how many pills the man took, he stayed on his own destructive for us all path. In the weeks before his death, the man though that the answer to the Capitol Insurrection was….. more violence.
Let’s just hope that the vacuum he leaves behind stays empty. Bye, Rush. Don’t hate to see you go.
