Police in the United Kingdom are investigating the possibility that three boys who disappeared in the 1970s may have been murdered by a person or people linked to an executive-level pedophile ring based in London and elsewhere.
On Thursday, officials with Britain’s domestic police service Scotland Yard announced they received information from a witness that claimed the three boys were murdered by members of a Westminster-based child sex group that ran from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s.
Some victims of the group whose identities have been masked by pseudonyms have alleged the Westminster pedophile ring serviced men in positions of authority, including members of parliament and military officials.
The latest tip focused on the disappearance of the three boys came from a man identified publicly as “Nick.” Police said they are treating the information as “credible and true,” and have now launched a murder investigation.
Scotland Yard spokesperson Kenny McDonald issued a public plea for witnesses to come forward, saying detectives had reason to believe others were abused as part of the Westminster pedophile ring and similar groups located on military installations and elsewhere.
“I appeal to men who were subjected to abuse 30 years ago to come forward,” Kenny McDonald told reporters on Thursday. “We are also investigating the murder of three young boys — we are determined to find answers.”
Some victims have started speaking publicly about their abuse at sex parties in London. One victim, identified only as “Michael,” said he was subjected to abuse while growing up in Northern Wales, but for a short time in the 1980s he was bussed to pedophile parties at an apartment in London’s Pimlico neighborhood.
That nonsense included offering children copious amounts of alcohol, then forcing them into sexual acts with older men. Michael said he believed the investigation was covered up because the pedophile group involved members of parliament.
But as more and more victims are starting to come forward, police have been forced to investigate the sex parties. Since his interview aired on Sky News in 2011, Michael has been interviewed by detectives on a handful of occasions; during one such interview, he showed police the apartment in Pimlico where he was subjected to abuse.
“Part of me died here,” Michael said in a follow-up interview. “We shouldn’t have been brought here, and made to do the things we did.”
The Pimlico neighborhood is the same one investigators are now focused on in connection with the apparent murder of three boys. Police say they have not been able to rule out the possibility that more than one apartment was used in connection with the child sex parties.
“Today I want to appeal directly to those other young boys, now men, who were also subject to abuse at the hands of these men,” McDonald said. “I would ask you to trust me. I will support you, and do everything in my power to find those responsible and bring them to justice. I need your accounts to help me do that.”
