So headaches are an incredibly common problem for millions, even billions, of people around the world. I get headaches sometimes. And sometimes they can be pretty bad. But I’ve never suffered from chronic headaches. Maybe the occasional migraine from stress which is no fun. But headaches have never been a serious impediment to my days and nights. And I’ve certainly met people who do live life that way, and they don’t know the cause. But one man in Shenzhen, China who had this problem did find out the reason why, and it’s a doozy. He had a air gun pellet stuck in his head for 20 years!

WHEN HEADACHES GOT MUCH WORSE, DOCTORS MADE STUNNING PELLET DISCOVERY
So it’s not surprising to hear that he’s suffered from chronic headaches for most of his life. At just 28 years old, he’s had that pellet stuck in his head since he was only 8! But suffering from chronic headaches is more common than we think. And this man only sought out medical help after they got much worse and happened more frequently. So he found help at Shenzhen University General Hospital, where a doctor took an MRI of his head and made what was a shocking discovery. Why shocking? Because the man had no idea it was there!

Or, rather, I should say that he totally forgot it was there. He does remember he and his brother playing with said air gun at home and it went off, hitting him in the side of the head. The duo were of course hoping to avoid getting in trouble with their parents, so they didn’t say anything. The wound was minor and easily hidden by his hair. And since it didn’t really hurt that much, he quickly forgot about it entirely. But having a piece of metal stuck in your head is exactly the kind of thing that can cause chronic headaches, if not worse. But fortunately, the doctors were able to remove it and he’s recovering at home.
Hopefully, his days of chronic headaches are at an end. If only it were that easy for everyone else who suffer from them!
