Boeing Whistleblower Is Dead On Day He’s Supposed to Talk More

JOHN BARNETT, THE BOEING WHISTLEBLOWER, WAS FOUND DEAD THE SAME DAY HE WAS TO WHISTLEBLOW MORE

So, it’s not a new thing that there are concerns about airline safety.  But Boeing airplanes have had things falling off of them, fires, and overall have been in the news entirely too much because their planes don’t appear to be safe.  And that news includes official investigations at this point.  So it’s slightly alarming, maybe even extremely alarming, to hear that the former Boeing employee turned whistleblower was found dead on the very same day he was supposed to talk more about what he knew.  Apparently, his cause of death was “self-inflicted.”  If the timing of this sounds hinky to the max, that’s because it is.

BOEING WHISTLEBLOWER WORKED FOR BOEING FOR 32 YEARS, BLEW WHISTLE ABOUT SAFETY

The now deceased Boeing whistleblower was 62-year-old John Barnett.  He worked for Boeing for 32 years and retired as a quality manager 7 years ago.  He later spoke about the dangers of anyone flying in Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner, specifically about how Boeing, “they started ignoring safety issues.”  What kind of safety issues?  Compromised electrical systems and how a quarter of the oxygen masks on the planes didn’t work.  Barnett made sure to tell his family never to fly on one of those planes.  And now, we hear that he died three years ago, supposedly killing himself in his truck on the same day he was supposed to answer more questions in relation to an investigation and case against Boeing?

These are the kinds of things that make you go, hmmmm.  So besides the Boeing whistleblower supposedly killing himself over the weekend before blowing his whistle some more, what else happened?  Oh, just how another Boeing plane had a “technical event” that injured 50 people.  It’s almost like a spy novel that is too ludicrous to believe.  Except this happened, is happening, and will clearly continue to happen.  I can’t help wondering what else the Boeing whistleblower had to say to investigators and lawyers about his former employer.  So far, Boeing just says that it “was saddened to hear of Mr Barnett’s passing.”

I’ll take that statement with a grain of judicious salt.
