Because of “Stolen” Election,” A New All-Citizen Database

BECAUSE OF THE 2020 “STOLEN” ELECTION, THERE’S NOW AN ALL-CITIZEN DATABASE TRACKING EVERY VOTER

Here we go, and not in a good direction.  Actually, we’ve already done gone and went.  You’re likely to hear a host of reactions about this in the coming weeks.  But it’s also possible that the list of offensively horrific things happening with Trump’s governing of America will make it hard to remember.  Well, until the next election, that is.  Because apparently there is already a searchable database of all American citizens, both locally born and naturalized.  This new, all-citizen database is being “overseen” by the DHS U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  So why does it exist?  Because clearly Trump isn’t letting go of his fascist tantrum that the 2020 election was “stolen” from him.

THE “STOLEN” ELECTION WAS CLEAN, BUT THIS ALL-CITIZEN DATABASE COULD UNDERMINE PRIVACY

So what does this mean?  Well, now that we’re aware of it the sales pitch is that it will help federal and state government officials look up individuals on their voting lists.  That’s the sales pitch, anyway.  But aside from all the Republican lawsuits alleging massive voter fraud -which were debunked and rejected overwhelmingly- there just hasn’t been much of an issue with voting lists.  Well, besides all the voting registration purges done by Republicans, and the arrests of former felons who voted after local Republican officials sent them mail saying they could vote.  Yet despite our elections somehow actually working pretty well, we now have this all-citizen database of voters to “protect” American democracy.

COMBINED FEDERAL DATABASES COULD SPELL SERIOUS TROUBLE WITH PARTISAN APPOINTEES

What you should really know is this new all-citizen database comes out of an expansion of the systematic alien verification for entitlements program (Save), as well as an integration with data from the Social Security Administration.  There’s some solid logic there.  But the fact that we’re hearing about this from The Guardian isn’t good news, nor that this wasn’t discussed in either chamber of Congress.  But in particular this greatly jeopardizes American voter privacy, because this represents the first combination of separate federal databases.  I can all too easily imagine this all-citizen database being accessible by people curious as to how registered Democrats voted in elections, while some 19-year-old hack is approving Social Security checks.

And let’s not forget that the Department of Homeland Security will now be involved with this new database, somehow.  I mean, it’s not like the DHS has been increasingly politicized and militarized of late.  What could go wrong?
