Denied Probation, Prisoner Flies, Beats Judge in Court

DENIED PROBATION, PRISONER FLIES AT JUDGE IN COURT, PROCEEDS TO PUNCH HER SEVERAL TIMES

Well, this certainly isn’t something I recall ever seeing on an episode of Night Court!  Sure, it was a show dedicated to some wanton silliness, mixed with some personal drama.  With great characters, of course.  But this?  This didn’t involve great characters at all.  In fact, it’s a sad testament to court staff who were caught flatfooted enough to allow a prisoner denied probation the time to launch himself, fly over the judge’s gavel table, and then beats her as they scramble to restrain him.  And yes, that’s a screenshot of said prisoner as he flies thru the air, attacking the judge.

AS SOON AS JUDGE HOLTHUS DENIED PROBABION, PRISONER DELONE REDDEN WENT ON CRAZY ATTACK

So what was the personal drama here for this prisoner?  His name is Delone Redden, and he was in court for sentencing for aggravated battery.  So why did he attack the judge?  Judge Mary Kay Holthus had just denied his request for probation.  He then immediately launched himself at her.  The video, which you can find a link to below, shows him as he flies thru the air, lands on the judge, and proceeds to punch her as much as he can as court staff try to intervene too late.  If this had even been on Night Court, you wouldn’t have thought it could be possible in real life.

COURT STAFF WERE CLEARLY CAUGHT FLATFOOTED, AS PRISONER INJURED JUDGE AND MARSHAL

Judge Holthus and the marshal you see as the first responder were both injured in the scary attack.  But I must say, the injured marshal and the rest of the court staff weren’t on the top of their game when this happened.  In the video, you can hear Redden swearing and punching the judge even as staff tried to restrain him.  And where did this happen?  In Las Vegas District Court.  This is one time that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas doesn’t apply.  You can be sure aggravated battery will be the least of the time Redden ends up serving.  And probation?  That ain’t happening.

You can see the shocking video here.
