Priests and Nuns Watch Porn, Pope Francis: Porn is Forbidden

WHILE WE KNOW PRIESTS AND NUNS WATCH PORN, POPE FRANCIS CLARIFIES PORN IS FORBIDDEN

Well, we all knew that being a priest or a nun didn’t make them any less human.  In fact, the vows of chastity have a long history of making things even more challenging.  Absence does, as we all know, make the heart grow fonder.  There’s also a lot of water in the River of Denial.  So it’s not a surprise to know that priests (and nuns!) watch porn.  Just like everyone else in the world.  You know, who doesn’t watch porn?  So what does Pope Francis say about porn?  Why, it’s forbidden, of course.

IF BATTLING LUST IS A LIFELONG BATTLE, THEN PORN MUST BE FORBIDDEN, BECAUSE CHASTITY IS HARD

It was this current week, when Pope Francis said that “sexual pleasure is a gift from God.”  Well, sure.  If you believe in God then you believe that everything is a Gift from God.  But he also said, “Winning against the battle of lust can be a lifelong undertaking.”  Well, ok.  But it’s often hard, ahem, to discern the difference between lust and desire.  Sometimes even love.  And sometimes all three can be related to each other in any given moment.  But porn?  For whatever reason, porn is forbidden.

So why are we talking about Pope Francis talking about porn being forbidden today?  Because someone recently rediscovered a book written by Víctor Manuel Fernández, the Vatican’s head of doctrine.  He wrote the book when he was younger (and possibly more connected to his human virility).  But it included a chapter describing the differences between the male and female orgasms.  Oops.  Fernández now disavows his own book, saying, “I would certainly not write (that) now.”  So things that make you think about wanting to have an orgasm?  Like porn?  Fobidden….

Like I said, there’s a LOT of water in that River of Denial.  And there’s more every day, flowing by….
