WORLD’S DIRTIEST MAN HAS DIED AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 94, MONTHS AFTER TAKING A BATH
Personal hygiene is important, everyone knows this. Especially bathing! If we get dirty, never mind stay dirty, it can open up all sorts of health problems that will definitely shorten our lifespans. Well, except possibly for the world’s dirtiest man, Amou Haji. He just died in the village of Dejgah, Iran, at the ripe old age of 94. It’s hard to believe, but Amou Haji hadn’t taken a bath of any kind for over 60 years! If I’m doing my math right, that means he hadn’t taken a bath since about 1960! Yet I’m sad to relate that he died last Sunday, just a few months after taking a bath.

DIRTIEST MAN LAST TOOK A BATH IN ABOUT 1960, WHEN HE WAS ONLY IN HIS EARLY 30’S
I can’t imagine having someone like this in my community. Now, locals in Dejgah will be missing this strange, triumphantly dirty man. Haji was covered in soot and lived in a cinder-block shack. Villagers say that he refused to bathe because of “emotional setbacks in his youth.” I must say I’m a little curious about what those were. I can’t imagine what would make me refuse to bathe with any water or soap for over half a century! Getting the moniker world’s dirtiest man is no small feat. I mean, imagine being in your early 30’s and not taking a bath until you were in your 90’s!

WORLD’S NOW FORMER DIRTIEST MAN ATE ROADKILL, AND EVEN SMOKED PIPE FILLED WITH ANIMAL POO
Haji also had quite the odd lifestyle as the world’s dirtiest man. He reportedly ate roadkill, which I can’t imagine. He even smoked a pipe willed with animal excrement! I’m not sure what the attraction was there. So it’s safe to say that the world’s dirtiest man had some odd beliefs. Like, that if he took a bath it would make him sick. But maybe he was right? Because he has just passed away, only months after villagers convinced him to take a bath.
