BORIS JOHNSON’S BROTHER BAILS ON PRIME MINISTER’S GOVERNMENT
So you may have heard that Boris Johnson, the English Prime Minister, is a bit of a tool. Well, that’s like saying Donald Trump is good with a sharpie. But England’s government has been in crisis (officially) for days now. If you’re American, it’s not easy to decipher the how’s and why’s. But Boris Johnson’s government is flailing about, waiting for official failure happen. In the last two days, it has lost 3 critical votes and Johnson had a disaster of a performance at England’s Prime Minister Question Time. It’s gotten so bad, Boris Johnson’s own brother has decided to bail to get away from the sinking ship. Usually, someone who bails on a sinking ship is trying to keep it afloat. But not this time!

HE’S NOT JUST BAILING, HE’S QUITTING, NOT RUNNING AGAIN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Jo Johnson isn’t just quitting from his brother’s government. He’s leaving his seat as well as their mutual Conservative Party as well. He’s like, totally bailing. There’s nothing else for him to abandon! But there is a little history here. In 2016, Jo voted to Remain in the EU. Boris Johnson, obviously, voted to Leave. If that sounds familiar, that was the beginning of all this Brexit nonsense that hasn’t remotely ended yet. Some others in government have called Jo’s exit to be “unbelievable timing.” For me, I can’t believe we’re still dealing with Brexit, two years later.

BREXIT TRAVESTY IS A SHIT STORM SNOWBALL RUNNING DOWN HILL FOR THREE YEARS
But things with Brexit got hot this week in England. 21 MPs went on the record, from Boris Johnson’s own party, decrying moves to prevent a no-deal Brexit. The only comparison that would make sense to Americans is if 21 Republicans in the US Senate decided to officially protest Trump on, say, emoluments, lying, sexual harassment, bribery, working for Putin, etc. You get the idea. Poor Boris Johnson. They decided to do what’s best for their country more than their concern for getting re-elected. But when brothers bail on you, things are getting Old Testament. Stay tuned.
