The brainchild of two dudes who grew up on communes, WeWork is trying to make working fun. Here are some pros and cons of their dynamic idea.
PROS: CONTEMPORARY FUN WORK SPACES
WeWork spaces are beautiful and modern, the couches are comfy and the colors are soothing. The art is enticing and the bathrooms are luxurious.
CONS: WORK IS NARCOLEPTIC SECOND HOME
I feel so safe and warm and cozy that I end up drifting off into unscheduled-naps when I should be working, and the bathrooms are so nice that I just end up showering in them and never end up going home. But my cat misses me, I think.
PROS: DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY
I rent space next to people who do very different job from me. So now I have lots of friends in diverse fields, from software engineering to fashion design to copywriting.
CONS: SURROUNDED BY MYSTERY PEERS
Everyone I know does something for work that I do not understand, and I have now known them too long to ask them to explain it to me.

PROS: FREE BEER AND FREE COFFEE
There is free coffee to perk me up in the morning and free beer to chill me out in the afternoon.
CONS: NEVER ENDING UPPERS AND DOWNERS
I’m on a constant rollercoaster of uppers, the coffee, and downers, the beer, and I don’t know how to get off the rollercoaster. And it just keeps going faster and faster and I DON’T THINK IT WILL EVER STOP HELP.
PROS: LOTS OF OPTIONS
There are WeWorks all over the city so on any given day. So I can choose a different office-space to work in.
CONS: TOO MANY CHOICES
There are literally so many choices of where to be and what to do. So I find it’s easier to sit at home rocking myself quietly back and forth in the fetal position on the bathroom floor.
PROS: CASUAL
It’s a casual work atmosphere. So I feel comfortable wearing pretty much anything I want.
CONS: DRESS CODE
There’s no dress code and people are starting to show up naked.
