7 MILLION AMERICANS GATHER PEACEFULLY FOR NO KINGS “HATE RALLY”
I’m not sure what could be more American than gathering to proclaim one of the founding tenets of our Democracy: No Kings. You don’t have to remember too much of your early education to know that one of the motivations for the American Revolution was a very real rejection of a monarchy, or king. So it’s not much of a stretch to think that American citizens gathering across the country (and the world) to proclaim “No Kings” loud and clear is completely patriotic. Yet for some reason, many Republican leaders in the lead up to yesterday’s nationwide event have described this patriotic protest as a “hate rally.” Yet 7 million people got together, and there was no violence whatsoever.

REPUBLICANS CALLED NO KINGS PATRIOTS TERRORIST MARXIST GEORGE SOROS AGENTS
And I must admit, I was concerned that somewhere something bad would happen. Yet nothing did, anywhere. No violence, no issues with local police or the national guard. Nothing. Just 7 million Americans peacefully declaring that their country should not, and does not, have a king. Yet many leaders in the Republican Party loudly declared that these American patriots were coming out for a “Hate America Rally,” and were terrorists, Marxists, pro-Hamas and “antifa.” It was also said that the rally was funded by George Soros. In other words, Soros ended up paying 7 million fake No Kings protestors across the United States.

7 MILLION AMERICANS COMING OUT FOR NO KINGS POSE LARGE QUESTIONS FOR ELECTION
So far today the major media coverage of yesterday’s No Kings rally has been simply factual. 7 million people, check. No violence, check. Multiple cities, check. People of all ages, races and creeds; check. But it’s in the coming days and weeks where the analysis will have more substance, answering questions like, does this motivate more voters to come out for the mid-term elections? Does this motivate elected Republicans to start distancing themselves from Trump? But I’m really hoping we start asking this question: did the No Kings rally on October 18th turn the generalized antifa label into an actual political movement?
Because let’s be honest folks, the rightwing’s broadly branding anti-fascism as a terrorist, liberal conspiracy is just about deflecting the obvious truth: Donald Trump is a fascist political leader.
