BESIDES MAKING EGGS EXPENSIVE, THE H5N1 BIRD FLU COULD BE HUMANITY’S NEXT PANDEMIC
So it’s pretty darn unlikely you haven’t heard about the latest problems with bird flu. At a minimum, you know that the price of eggs has jumped like never before, and that’s staring you in the face, whether it’s in the grocery store or at your favorite breakfast joint. Though I do suppose some folks simply blame Joe Biden, because a certain man who likes to throw eggs said so. But this bird flu could have an even bigger impact, because H5N1 could soon be the next pandemic we didn’t want to have. In other words, you might want to get ready, soon.

H5N1 HAS ALREADY SPREAD FROM BIRDS TO CATTLE, AND A FEW PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY BEEN INFECTED
And in case you’re immediately dismissive, you should know that H5N1 has already spread thru dairy cattle. That’s bad. But even worse? There have already been a number of people with this makes eggs expensive bird flu. In other words, this bird flu has already jumped between mammalian species, including humans. That means it could evolve, fast, becoming a very infectious problem for cattle, your dogs and cats and, of course, you. And scientists are sounding the alarm of the proximate risks.

H5N1 COULD SOON BE REALLY DANGEROUS, AND IT MIGHT BE HARD TO GET A VACCINE SOON
No less than 7 well-regarded health scientists posted a letter in Science magazine over the dangers. So far, almost all the people infected with H5N1 suffered mild symptoms. But bird flu is never simple, and can cause serious and life-threatening diseases. And if it’s jumping between species now, it could get dangerous for us all. Unfortunately, that means that these and other scientists are calling for preparations like vaccines to protect us all. I for one am not happy to hear that. But then again, with RFK Jr. in charge of our health, it seems we’d be lucky to have a shot at getting a shot.
Stay tuned.
