COLORADO MAN SUFFERS MINOR HEAD INJURIES FROM MOUNTAIN LION ATTACK IN HOT TUB
I’ve heard the old saying that cats do not like water. I’ve even seen that to be true first hand, after witnessing one fall into a full bathtub by accident. And while there are exceptions to just about any rule, this one seems to be pretty consistent. But I’ve also seen cats willing to stick their entire paws into a fish tank to get them some of the goodies inside. The limbic splash seems to be worth the reward in that scenario. But what about mountain lions? The larger, more aggressive and hardier feline is much more of a badass. That possibly explains how one of them recently attacked a Colorado man who was relaxing in a hot tub. Horrifying, right? Let the claws of that scenario sink in well and good.

COLORADO MAN WAS RELAXING IN HOT TUB WITH HIS WIFE WHEN HE FELT SOMETHING GRAB HIS HEAD
The Colorado man was relaxing in a hot tub with his wife in a wooded area of Nathrop on Saturday night, at a remote home they were staying in. Everything was fine and dandy as it should be. Privacy, romance, relaxation and, of course, a hot tub. But then the man felt something grabbing his head. He looked to see what it was and screamed when he saw that it was a mountain lion who had its paw on his head with the claws stuck in. He then continued to shout at the large predator and splash at it while his wife shone a flashlight in its face, forcing it to retreat to the top of a nearby hill.

But the mountain lion retreated no further, saying there to watch them from there, possibly considering its options. But the couple managed to get back into the house where they cleaned the Colorado man’s wounds; 4 scratches on the top of his head and near his right ear. The Colorado man then called the property owner, an employee of Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Pretty scary stuff! Since 1990, over 27 people have suffered injuries from mountain lion attacks, 3 of them fatal. This mountain lion hot tub attack is the first since in Colorado since February 2022. Experts say the mountain lion likely didn’t recognize that it was people in the hot tub, their heads being the only thing visible.
So far, trackers haven’t been able to locate the hot tub mountain lion ambusher.
