Every time I see another ridiculous story out of Florida I almost can’t believe it’s real. Almost. But then again, we’re talking about Florida here! And the next installment has to do with a nefarious mom, Jessica Woods. In what would otherwise be unbelievable news if it wasn’t in Florida, this mom tried to sell her daughter for a grand total of $500. Apparently, the 33-year-old Woods had been loitering near a business in Palatka for several days with her daughter. An employee at the local business approached Woods and asked if she or her child needed any assistance. And that’s when things went sideways in an unbelievable way.

The employee was concerned and was familiar with Woods because she had been in the area so frequently. When given the query for assistance, Woods said they didn’t need anything and then offered to sell her daughter to the employee for $500. As you can safely assume, the employee declined the offer. So what did this mother do? She simply walked away, leaving her daughter behind alone in the local business with the employee. I simply can’t imagine being this poor child. Not in any way that would preserve my sanity, anyway.

DAUGHTER IS NOW SAFE IN FOSTER CARE, AND FLORIDA MOM IN JAIL FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES

The employee then did what any of us would do, even almost everyone else in the state of Florida besides Jessica Woods. I hope so, anyway. The employee then immediately brought the young girl to the Palatka Police Department. I can only imagine the cops’ response when they were told how the mom tried to sell her daughter for $500 and then simply left with no sale happening. The child is now in foster care, thank God. And as for Jessica Woods, she faces charges of child abuse, child neglect, and abandonment of a child. She’s also in Putnam County Jail with a bond of $225,000.
