HARRY AND MEGHAN FLEE PAPARAZZI IN NYC FOR OVER 2 HOURS IN SCARY CAR CHASE
I remember when I heard about the death of Princess Diana all these many years ago now. It stunned the world, and yet the tragedy did little to change the habits of an ever-hungry media always set to create more content fodder for the masses. And as we continue to learn more about Prince Harry, we know more and more about how his mother’s tragic death defined his future, as well as his fears. Diana’s death has a great deal to do with his leaving England in order to protect his wife, Meghan, and their children. So it’s almost macabre to learn that Harry and Meghan had to flee from paparazzi in NYC yesterday for over 2 hours.

HARRY AND MEGHAN EVENTUALLY FLED TO AN NYPD PRECINCT, WHERE THEY CHANGED CARS
And yes, it was dangerous. Harry and Meghan, along with her mother, had just left a charity event in Midtown when a group of paparazzi started chasing them. But the chasing never stopped, which caused numerous near collisions with other drivers, pedestrians, as well as two NYPD officers. Finally, they took refuge in NYPD’s 19th Precinct, on E. 67th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenue. They hid there for about 15 minutes before they got into another car and managed to get away without paparazzi pursuit. It’s truly an appalling story, remembering Princess Diana’s tragic death.

HARRY AND MEGHAN, THE PUBLIC AND NYPD WERE ALL PUT AT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH DURING CHASE
Harry has long said that his greatest fear was “history repeating itself” as Meghan has suffered the same level of media scrutiny as his mother. And now here we are in the year 2023, and it is entirely possible that both of them could have been badly injured or even killed. Not to mention the public and police also being at risk. All I can say is, if anyone else had been hurt while they evaded the paparazzi, a lot of fingers would have placed the blame squarely on Harry and Meghan.
Fortunately, no one was hurt, though I’m sure the experience has left Harry and Meghan feeling traumatized.
