ALEC BALDWIN IN THE NEWS FOR PARKING SNAFU PUNCH
So Alec Baldwin is back in the news. No, it’s not his daughter. And no, it’s not about Words With Friends and flying. I just wish it were. Or that he had an amazing new role (but I’m sure he does). Alec just appeared in a New York court yesterday. Someone accused him of hitting some guy in the face. So what was it about? A parking space. Alec Baldwin allegedly punched someone in the face over a parking spot. So now he’s in some hot water over the parking snafu punch.
SUPPOSED PUSHING, SHOVING LED TO ALLEGED PUNCH
The court arraigned the now 60-year-old star on misdemeanor and violation-level charges. He said nothing at all during the proceedings. But Baldwin had earlier protested that he had done nothing wrong. The reported story is that on November 2nd, another driver pulled into a parking space. But one of Alec’s relatives was holding it for him. Supposedly Baldwin and the other man argued and then pushed each other. Afterwards, the other driver told police Alec had slapped or punched him in the face.
POLICE ACTUALLY ARRESTED ALEC BALDWIN FOR ASSAULT
Police then arrested Alec for assault and harassment. But prosecutors downgraded them yesterday to just attempted assault and harassment. The alleged 49-year-old victim went to the hospital with jaw pain and redness around his neck. But Alan Abramson, Baldwin’s lawyer, didn’t pull any punches. He said, “Mr. Baldwin is a public figure whose reputation has been damaged by media reports that claim that he punched a man on a New York City street. There is incontrovertible video evidence that has been turned over to the district attorney’s office that proves beyond all doubt that Mr. Baldwin never punched anyone. Mr. Baldwin did not commit any crime and we are confident that once this matter is fully investigated it will be resolved swiftly and appropriately in court.”
So, let’s go to the videotape! Baldwin might be in the clear for doing everything right, on film. Now that’s a real star.
