WHY EVER WOULD A STRAIGHT MAN GET DOUBLE-D BREAST IMPLANTS? TO SAVE HIS LIFE
Breast implants are somewhat controversial, for some. You can count me in their number, as I’m a firm believer in au natural as much as possible when it comes to the human body. Well, maybe a nick or a tuck here or there if a turkey neck is in my future. And I suppose there’s the time I discovered a woman had breast implants by finding the edge in situ. Evidently, I’m a good actor. Anyways, there are a myriad of reasons why (mostly female) people get breast implants. But why would a straight man get large breast implants? A metro style and identity isn’t really a qualifiable answer.

STRAIGHT MAN NEEDED NEW LUNGS, BUT HE HAD TO STAY ALIVE LONG ENOUGH TO RECEIVE THEM
But fortunately for my dated, narrow-minded understanding of gender identity and all its myriad forms the answer makes only too much sense. The straight man who got large breast implants was one Davey Bauer, a 34-year-old who needed a double lung transplant due to years of seriously heavy smoking. His lungs were in pretty bad shape, and then he suffered very dangerous infections that were resistant to antibiotics. For Davey, he needed, essentially new lungs. And that means a double lung transplant to stay alive. So where does a large set of breast implants come into play?

DOUBLE-D DAVEY SURVUIVED DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT, AND HIS STORY IS WORTH KEEPING ABREAST OF
Davey’s doctors removed his infection dangerous lungs and cleaned out his chest cavity, and then used pieces of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine to create man-made blood channels. In other words, to keep Davey alive long enough for his infection to clear before he received his double lung transplant. But the problem complicating things was that there was nothing in Davey’s chest cavity to keep his heart in place. And that’s where a straight man getting (extra) large breast implants gets explained. Davey received double-D breast implants to keep his heart in place to buy time to clear the infection and allow him the safety to receive his double lung transplant.
And, amazingly, it all went well, with Davey getting released from the hospital a few months after receiving his new lungs. Davey has given himself a new nickname to celebrate: Double-D Davey.
