Steven Seagal Challenged to Fight in Vegas by George Foreman

UNDER SIEGE STAR STEVEN SEAGAL UNDER SIEGE BY GEORGE FOREMAN’S TWEET

Yes!!! George Foreman has created a storm of energy and anticipation by challenging Steven Seagal to a one-on-one fight in Vegas via a tweet to his 140,000 followers.  In what could be the most bizarre public fight in history, the 68-year-old Foreman who is a former two-time world heavyweight champion, has asked to face off against Seagal, the 65-year-old Aikido “master” and Hollywood actor.  The internet was quickly abuzz with the news on social media, with the tweet quickly getting wide attention.

FIGHT TO BE 10 ROUNDS, NO WEAPONS, HAND-TO HAND EPIC SEPTUAGENARIAN WAR

There’s no word yet on Foreman’s motivation or goals, or if something simply set him off to publicly call out Seagal in such grand and random fashion.  But as spectacles go, this would easily eclipse Floyd Mayweather’s fight with Conor McGregor.  “Steven Seagal, I challenge you one on one, I use boxing you can use whatever. 10 rounds in Vegas.”  Readers quickly sent questions to Foreman about how the fight’s rules, who responded that it would be ‘no weapons” and “hand-to-hand” combat only.

FOREMAN LOOKING FOR BIG SCORE, OR ONLY REAL-LIFE GRUDGE MATCH?

Foreman, who at the age of 45 became boxing’s oldest ever world heavyweight champion, finally retired from the ring in 1997 after his defeat to Shannon Briggs.  He would go on to promote the George Foreman Grill, which is believed to have seen him earn $138million in 1999 from manufacturers Salton.

Whether this comeback of sorts will actually happen remains to be seen, but it would not be first time a boxing great fought in an open-rules fight.  Muhammad Ali famously took on Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki in Tokyo back in 1976 – in fight which nearly cost the boxing legend more than just his pride.  Ali was kicked so hard that he sustained two blood clots in his legs, injuries which his trainer Angelo Dundee later revealed left Ali almost requiring an amputation.
