AT A DUKE UNIVERSITY EVENT, JERRY SEINFELD SAID “FREE PALESTINE” SUPPORTERS HATE JEWS
Ah, Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. While I can’t say I was ever a fan, I can now say whatever reservations I had for his wisdom is now unreserved. Because hoo-boy, did he ever just announce loud and clear that he is some kind of badly evolved current-day Zionist absolutist. And sure, he’s not alone in espousing this belief, even while likely totally disagreeing with the label. But Jerry Seinfeld just literally told everyone at an event at Duke University that any and everyone who supports a Free Palestine…. Hates Jews. It seems hating Jews now has an extremely low bar for inclusion.

Seinfeld was an unannounced guest at a student-led event that included Omer Shem Tov, who was asked to share the story of his spiritual journey while he was a captive for 505 days. Jerry Seinfeld introduced the guest speaker, and didn’t want his appearance known before the event. But boy did Jerry make his presence felt! He said, “Free Palestine is, to me, just — you’re free to say you don’t like Jews. Just say you don’t like Jews. By saying Free Palestine, you’re not admitting what you really think. So it’s actually — compared to the Ku Klux Klan, I’m actually thinking the Klan is actually a little better here because they can come right out and say, ‘We don’t like Blacks, we don’t like Jews.’ Okay that’s honest.”

So if hating Jews by supporting a Free Palestine isn’t bad enough, according to Seinfeld it’s better than being a member of the KKK. Because the KKK was honest, at least. In other words, it’s not Seinfeld who’s deluding himself or others, it’s all those people who obviously to him hate Jews. Unfortunately for Seinfeld, that includes just a few million American Jews, many of whom must then hate themselves. And remember, there are more Jewish people who are citizens of the United States than there are Jewish citizens in Israel. We’ll have to see how well a particular show about narcissists fares in posterity.
