English Police Search Home for Screaming Woman, Only to Find a Parrot

POLICE IN ESSEX, ENGLAND RUSH TO LOCAL HOME TO HELP SCREAMING WOMAN, ONLY TO FIND A LOUD PARROT

Parrots crack me up, except for when they’re not terribly friendly to anyone but their owners.  Unfortunately, I know this from painful experience.  But I’ve never had one, mostly because they live forever and when they want to make noise, they make a LOT of noise.  Police in Essex, England found this out the hard way.  A passerby outside one particular home thought they heard a woman screaming for help, so they called police to investigate.  But when the police conducted a search of the home, they just found a rather loud parrot instead.

HOME AND PARROT OWNER PANICKED A BIT, WONDERING WHY POLICE WERE RUSHING TO HIS FRONT DOOR

So you can imagine how this went down and you won’t be far from the truth.  The police rushed over, as they thought someone needed saving immediately.  The owner of the home was and is 54-year-old Steve Woods, who keeps no less than 22 parrots at his home as pets.  When the police arrived, he panicked just a little, as he was wondering what he could have done to see them rush up to his door.  But they quickly sorted things out, as there was no screaming in Woods’ home.  Fortunately, this whole thing left everyone feeling pretty amused.

SCREAMING WOMAN WAS ACTUALLY A PARTICULARLY HORNY 3-YEAR-OLD PARROT, FREDDIE

Woods told the police that his parrots can be a bit lively in the morning.  But one parrot, a 3-year-old by the name of Freddie, has been “particularly hormonal” recently.  Freddie, it seems, sounds a lot like a woman screaming for help more than a vocal and horny bird.  But when I say they sorted things out quickly, I mean it was before Woods even opened his door.  When he did, the two officers were already laughing, and told him, “Don’t worry mate, I think we’ve got this one sussed.”

Well, I guess this is another reason I never had a parrot!
