Salads From Target May Contain FrogsWARNING, TARGET SALADS MAY CONTAIN LIVE ANIMALS

If you thought it was safe to buy the Taylor Farms baby spring salad mix from Target, you might want to look out for some unexpected protein.  Most consumers know and try not to think about all the small amounts of things that might be in the food we eat like bugs, feces, chemicals, etc.  But it’s quite another scenario to have a live amphibian moving around in your salad bowl after you’ve already eaten half your meal.

WOMAN HOPPING MAD- TURNED OVER NEW LEAF, FOUND FROG ON HER FORK

In what would have been a great practical joke but wasn’t, that’s what happened to someone who bought a salad from Target recently.  One Becky Garfinckel from Corona related how she picked up one of these salads from Target and discovered some lettuce moving mid-meal.  The experience was quite traumatic and will have lasting consequences for her and her family.

YOU MAY LOSE YOUR COOKIES IF YOU EAT TARGET SALADS

“As I’m pulling to go stab another bite, I see a frog sitting in my salad plate after I’ve eaten almost the entire salad. Completely freaked out — screamed. I threw up afterward because I was traumatized. I’m a vegetarian and I couldn’t believe there was a frog in there,” Garfinkel told local reporters.

She posted photos of the salad frog to Target’s Facebook page.

“This is the most disgusting thing I have seen,” she wrote. “Yes that’s a frog, a live frog from my spring mix I got from your store today. I discovered him after eating almost my entire salad and almost stabbed him.”

Garfinkel said she rinsed the salad dressing off the frog and noticed the amphibian appeared to be in poor health.

HUSBAND AND WIFE RESUSCITATE POOR AMPHIBIAN, KEEP AS PET

“[My husband] noticed that he was kind of not moving a lot and he rolled over. So he decides, let’s do some chest compressions. With his finger — I’m not kidding you — barely pushes on the little frog and he breathes and turns around. I’m like OK. We have to keep him,” she said.

Garfinkel said Target told her an investigation with Taylor Farms is ongoing. She said the store offered her a $5 gift card, which doesn’t even cover the cost of the salad. The frog, which the couple dubbed Lucky, is recovering from the trauma at its new home, Garfinkel said.

“I will tell you right now, I have no desire to ever eat a salad again. I’m petrified of the thought of a salad,” she said.
