Spider-Man: Brand New Day Teaser On Spiderman Day

TODAY IS NATIONAL SPIDER-MAN DAY, SO WE GET A SWEET TEASER FOR SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Today, apparently, is national Spider-Man Day.  And that means we’re getting a very (very) slight teaser for the next film installment, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to hit screens in exactly one year from yesterday, July 31st, 2026.  I’m partial to Spiderman, as he was my favorite comic book hero when I was a kid.  I’m talking primarily Peter Parker the Spectacular Spiderman, and at least the beginning of Web of Spiderman.  Those were, of course, comics way before any decent Spiderman movies became a reality.  And I must say that I’ve been pretty antsy with anticipation since seeing the end of the last film, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

IT’S BEEN 63 YEARS TODAY SINCE SPIDERMAN MADE HIS FIRST APPEARANCE IN MARVEL COMICS

So the teaser?  It ain’t much.  But it has everyone (like me) talking about it.  There’s a new video that appeared on social media which gives the barest of glimpses of the next Spiderman costume, with a caption saying, “Something brand new is coming… #SpiderManDay.”  So why, you might ask, is today national Spiderman Day?  Because it’s the anniversary of Spidey’s very first comic book appearance in Marvel Comics’ Amazing Fantasy #15, back in 1962.  That’s right, Spiderman is 63 years old today!  It doesn’t exactly make me feel young.  But I’m not that old!

TOM HOLLAND IS BACK, WITH OTHER FAMILIAR FACES AND A FEW EXCITING SURPRISES

Tom Holland, of course, is reprising his role as the web slinger, and he seems pretty stoked at the prospect, saying, “I’m obviously over the moon and so excited.  Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal. And I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of Covid; we shot the entire film on stages.”  He went on to say that the new movie will be shot in Glasgow, with a “massive” local set to be built on location.  Zendaya will be back too, as well as Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Jacob Batalon (Ned), Jon Bernthal (the Punisher!), and Sadie Sink (from Stranger Things, and no idea about her character yet).

This movie will be stacked!
