The Brie Larson Captain Marvel Workout Was For Reals

BRIE LARSON GOT SUPERHERO RIPPED WITH THIS CAPTAIN MARVEL WORKOUT

So I don’t know if you’ve seen the latest Marvel Universe installment.  It came out just yesterday!  So just going by the numbers, there are just a few million people who have already.  Bu even if you’ve only seen the trailers, you know this is a major film featuring a woman superhero, played by Brie Larson.  Sure, Brie is talented as well as gorgeous.  But taking on the responsibility of the possible woman savior of the Marvel Universe requires just a bit more than being gorgeous and talented.  You’ve got to have a superhero body that an MMA fighter would approve of.  And boy, did Brie deliver.  This is some of her Captain Marvel workout that you can do, too.

BRIE LARSON WAS NO SLOUCH, BUT SHE TRANSFORMED INTO SERIOUS HARDBODY

Larson shared enough of her workout regimen on Instagram to make anyone cry.  In fact, before you try this out make sure a professional gives you some guidance first.  Otherwise you could cry in rehab!  But her physical training entailed 9 long months involving physical training, foundation work and technical stunt work.  So by the time those nine months ended, Brie was able to deadlift 225lbs and some other crazy stats.  Like, she could do box jumps above her own waistline height!  But even crazier, Brie could do push-ups with a heavy chain wrapped around her waist.

So what were some of the brutal pieces of Larson’s workout?  Here they are.  The first is hip thrusts, where you lie on your back, knees up and lift your hips to the sky, 15-25 times.  Brie worked her way up to 400lb weighted hip thrusts.  Second?  Push-ups.  Brie couldn’t even do one when she started.  But by the end she could do push-ups with a 50lb chain around her waist.  That’s seriously bad-ass.  Third, the Bulgarian split squat.  That’s when you take a knee with the other leg in a forward lunge.  You raise yourself up and back down.  Reverse sides.  It’s totally brutal.  Brie could do these with 60lb weights in each hand!  But not at first!

PLEASE DON’T START YOUR TRAINING TRYING TO PUSH A CAR, SERIOUSLY

Fourth, pull-up drills.  Brie couldn’t do this at all at first.  But all you have to do is look at that pic, and those shoulders!  Yum.  And lastly, as far as we know so far, five is the sled push.  That involves you standing with your arms extended, hands on a wall.  You run “into” the wall.  But you never get there.  There are several ways to do this.  So if you try, be sure to be fully informed first.  As for Brie, she was able to push a car at the end of her training.  But don’t expect to push a car, you overachiever.  But Larson at 29 achieved a pro athlete’s physique and power in just 9 transformative months.  There’s no reason you can’t too.

But only Brie can be Captain Marvel.
