New Luxury Apartment, Bottles of Urine Fall From Ceiling

LUXURY APARTMENT A NIGHTMARE WITH URINE FILLED BOTTLES IN CEILING, WALLS

What do you do when you find something appalling and disgusting in your home behind a wall?  That’s a question one New Jersey couple doesn’t seem to have too much trouble answering, but a resolution is not yet in sight.  The couple bought a $2 million-dollar luxury condominium, located in Weehawken, New Jersey.  But the joy one would assume to be present in moving into a luxury apartment remained out of reach for this couple.  They quickly discovered “bottles filled with urine, containers containing remnants of partially eaten food, construction debris and other garbage” behind the walls of the unit’s bathroom.  What would you do if you found urine filled bottles in your walls?

URINE SOAKED INSULATION ALSO FOUND IN BEDROOM WALLS

This is all coming to light as the lawsuit filed by the couple against Lennar Sales Corporation has become public knowledge.  The couple have chosen to remain anonymous and are being represented by counsel.  But the filing shows that the apartment is at 1200 Avenue at Port Imperial.  The dirty details include “bottles filled with urine, containers containing remnants of partially eaten food, construction debris and other garbage.”  But the gory details don’t end there.  A further search of the apartment also found insulation soaked by urine in the master bedroom.  Urine filled bottles was just part of the story.

Given the disgusting nature of the discoveries and the massive price for the “luxury apartment,” the homeowners are suing Lennar for fraud and breach of warranty.  They’re also looking to receive punitive damages on top of their court costs.  They also allege that featured details of the property are only featured and not actually present as advertised.  Questions are mounting as many wonder if this is a more widespread problem than this one apartment.  These disgusting findings only came to light as an independent contractor came in to do some renovations. The couple had planned to move in after the work was done.

BOTTLES OF URINE RAINED FROM CEILING

The independent contractor was also pretty disturbed at his findings.  “I’ve never ever really seen anything like this before,” he added. “There were urine bottles falling out of the ceiling. As we moved some of the insulation there were bottles of urine in it that fell out. It’s such poor quality for these people buying units spending all this money.”

So far Lennar isn’t willing to settle with the couple. The apartment sits empty, generating unpaid fees as time goes by.
