DONALD TRUMP THREATENS EU COMPANIES OVER THEIR POLICY OF CONTROLLING NAZI CONTENT
It’s kind of hard to overstate how ugly and racist American policy with the Trump administration has become. Qualifying that with a list just from the last 6 months would be burdensome; reading them even more so. But this example is beyond stark when it comes to the particular corruption that epitomizes America’s current cult of personality leadership. Because Donald Trump has now officially threatened Europe over its enforcement of content. And yes, we’re talking specifically about Nazi content. Teflon Don, the authoritarian, thinks he can bully all of Europe over its policy to manage the threats of…. authoritarianism.
TRUMP LITERALLY EQUATES MODERATION OF NAZI CONTENT TO BE CENSORSHIP
But it’s certainly no coincidence that Trump threatened action against Europe’s Spotify and Siemens literally just days after the EU fined Elon Musk for allowing unfettered Nazi content and commentary on X. And lest irony not having yet dies the final death, Trump’s threats were delivered under the mantle of his alleged advocacy of “free speech.” But it’s important to remember the most basic context in this scenario, which is that Donald Trump was really saying that requiring company transparency regarding Nazi content amounts to total censorship.

To make that context even more poignant, it’s worth remembering that America’s Federal Communications Commission Director, Brendan Carr (when he was a Project 2025 aficionado!) said that media platforms should be required to explain and justify all editorial decisions. But now Trump wants to advocate for Nazi content, literally, because the EU is requiring Elon Musk’s X to keep some ad records. Well, and fined X when it didn’t even do that. With that oh-so-simple context, it seems pretty clear that for whatever reason, Trump wants social media in Europe to be just like X; a reactionary environment filled with reactionism, harassment, racism and blatant historic revisionism.
Actually, that sounds like something that would benefit Vladimir Putin. Go figure.
