ELON MUSK FREAKED OUT WHEN DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ACKNOWLEDGED RACIST MISOGYNY
It seems that I’m a but out of touch when it comes to Dungeons & Dragons these days. And I must say that it feels like yet another remnant of an idealized childhood is now toast, like from an incineration spell. Because I had no idea that the game had an issue with racist content. And I certainly had no idea that it always has, or that D&D creator Gary Gygax was an utterly racist and misogynist tool. But now I know, because the game has now removed said racist content (good!) and evidently Elon Musk is freaking about about it, billionaire style (nuts!).

WHEN HASBRO LOOKED TO REMOVE CONTENT, MUSK TOLD THEM TO “GO TO HELL”
Evidently this started last year, when D&D owner Hasbro acknowledged that the game was riddled with a host of old racial and gender stereotypes. Not only did Musk not like that, his reaction was to tell Hasbro to “burn in hell.” It seems that for Musk his idealized childhood included a Dungeons & Dragons game that promoted outdated and offensively outdated stereotypes in its very rulebook. And no, this is not a joke! The idea that D&D could better represent everyone (in fantasy!) literally enraged Musk.

NOW, A JOKE ABOUT BUYING HASBRO TO KEEP D&D UGLY COULD BE MUSK’S NEXT MOVE
One nerdy concern I have is that Musk also joked, “How much is Hasbro?” And yes, that means that this bothered him so much that he may actually be considering buying Hasbro entire just to make sure that Dungeons & Dragons remains rife with misogyny, racism and deeply disturbing gender stereotypes from the Dark Ages (you know, 30 years ago and before?). It makes for an awkward situation, seeing how 85 million people now play D&D, and many of those new fans are women, LGBTQ and not white people like Elliott in E.T.
