Writers Guild of America Has Questions About Stephen Colbert Cancellation

THE WRITERS GUILD HAS SOME DANGEROUS QUESTIONS SURROUNDING THE CBS CANCELLATION OF STEPHEN COLBERT

So….. why was the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert cancelled by CBS?  That’s a damn fine question, considering that the Tonight Show has been on the air at CBS since 1993, and was on NBC previously with David Letterman.  We’re talking over 40 years of entertainment success.  And even more puzzling, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert was one of CBS’s most entertaining and profitable shows in its lineup.  I can’t help but think of the cancellation of the Phis Donahue show back in 2003.  Donahue was outspokenly anti-war, though references say the show ended to low viewership.  But I remember differently.  And now with the end of the still-successful Late Show, I have some questions.  Apparently, so does the Writers Guild of America.

THE WGA SEEMS TO THINK THE LATE SHOW CANCELLATION IS YET ANOTHER BRIBE TO TRUMP

So what could possibly be the reason for this?  It’s not low viewership.  It’s not production costs being too expensive related to profits.  It doesn’t involve an embarrassing scandal involving the popular host.  So what could it be?  Well, the Writers Guild of America has a notion, and it’s stunning.  In short, they have “significant concerns” that the Stephen Colbert cancellation was actually a bribe to Donald Trump.  So what would CBS get for such a bribe?  Well, WGA’s concerned theory is that CBS would get Trump’s support to help push thru their pending acquisition of Skydance.  And there does seem to be some actual smoke to this which may actually mean a fire (meaning that the WGA could be right).

IS STEPHEN COLBERT CANCELLATION IS ANOTHER CBS TRUMP BRIBE RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN?

Even further, the Writers Guild of America wants Paramount (which owns CBS) to be investigated for bribing Trump to help facilitate their takeover of Skydance.  And the smoke I mentioned?  On July 15th, Colbert called the $16 million CBS settlement of the baseless Trump lawsuit “a big fat bribe” relating to the Skydance takeover.  And by the way, that particular bribery accusation is currently being investigated in California.  And then less than 2 days later, CBS announces the cancellation of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with the final taping to be help in May, 2026?  Then all CBS says is something vague about the show’s “financial performance?”  And the show is number one in its time slot?

It doesn’t pass the smell test.  Not one bit.  You can read more about the WGA’s allegations here.
