What's Wrong? Black Sabbath Calls It Quit in Final Tour

Black Sabbath, one of metal’s most iconic bands of all time, has announced the end has finally come. After nearly 50 years in the business, Ozzy and company will be conducting one last tour that will put the finishing touches on the masterpiece known as Black Sabbath. The 2016 tour schedule spans the globe, with more dates to be added, to give as many fans as possible the opportunity of a life time; to see the masters themselves hail the metal gods one last time with a production that promises to surpass anything Sabbath has done before. Regret will be thy name if you miss out.

History

Black Sabbath has been at the center of controversy since they barged onto the scene in 1968. Born out of the impoverished town of Birmingham, England, the original line up included guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward, with Iommi being the only consistent band member throughout the years. Now, after years of multiple line up changes, un-ending controversies, bannings, break ups, and a band sabbath between 2006 and 2011, the original line up is ready to wrap things up for good. There have been a few “incidents” out of certain band members that will live on in infamy, and I thought it’d be fun to take a look back at a few of controversies that shaped the band’s history, for better or worse.

Controversies

Lead singer Ozzie Osbourn has had more than his far share of self imposed controversies, with more than a few finding the Ozzman in hot water with animal activists. In two separate stage incidents, Osbourn bit the head off a dove.

Let’s see what happens to Black Sabbath in future. Perhaps someday these folks will come back. Will the world miss their absence?
