WALL STREET HAS DUBBED DONALD TRUMP THE EMBARASSING NICKNAME, “TACO”
Donald Trump doesn’t have too many natural skills. But among the stronger in his history as a successful bully was his obvious talent for creating nicknames for his enemies. And, well, they were and are the kind of nicknames that bruise the ego, are publicly embarrassing, and local (back in the day) and national (these days) media would run with and amplify. But Trump himself is obviously sensitive to any imprecations that bruise his own ego. Well, and his obvious authoritarian tendencies don’t help. So it’s got to be more than awkward for him that we’re now talking about the new nickname Wall Street has given him: “TACO.”

“TACO” STANDS FOR “TRUMP ALWAYS CHICKENING OUT” OVER TARIFF TRADE POLICY BACKTRACKING
Does Trump like to eat the odd (or dozen) taco like the rest of us? Considering his waistline, I’d assume yes, and in parenthesis. But his being dubbed TACO by Wall Street is a highly mocking acronym, and it’s got to be devastating (more like, incendiary rage) for Trump. It means, “Trump Always Chickens Out.” So why would Wall Street have a nickname like that for Trump? Well, his economic bravado and bullying as policy is why. You know, Tariffs and trade wars that Trump starts with imperious threats and bellicose grandstanding, only to back off every single time?

So TACO seems pretty apt, considering that this has proven to be how Trump “negotiates” trade policy with our (maybe still) closest allies. Threaten, grandstand, wreck markets and market confidence, freak out American executives who clearly call to say WTF, and then promptly chicken out like the sky is falling. It’s just too bad for the rest of us, as there’s no way to make money as a small time investor with all this Trumpian TACO tumult. But you can be sure that Donald Trump isn’t going to be happy that anyone is talking about this. So get ready for the next distraction that stays true to form.
Another TACO.
