Now normally, you’d like to assume that a sting in a hotel room would involve some kind of law enforcement task force and any kind of lawsuit after it would be due to an error or mistaken identity. Yet the headline here is a literal one, which for me as a man is more than casually terrifying. You’ve probably heard of the luxury Vegas hotel, the Venetian Resort, either because you’ve been there or you’ve ever watched tv or movies set in Vegas. But a man staying there suffered quite the malady, and I don’t mean a bad escort service. A scorpion stung his testicle, in bed, while he stayed there.

I really can’t imagine this myself, especially since I’ve never been stung by a scorpion, anywhere on my body. And the only person I know who’s been stung out outside of America’s southwest had to take antibiotics for 6 months afterwards. And that was his ankle sitting at a café in Vietnam! A testicle is a whole other situation. And that is likely why the man who’s testicle was treated so inhospitably by a scorpion in his bed is suing the luxury Vegas hotel His name is Michael Farchi, and the 61-year-old was visiting Vegas from Agoura Hills, California. For one thing, he was asleep when the sting happened. For another, there was a scorpion in his bed!

He woke up to crazy pain, down there. He said it felt like sharp glass or a knife. And when he went to the bathroom, be saw a scorpion hanging from his underwear! And the little desert devil stung his testicle multiple times. Multiple times! And Farchi’s lawyer says the hotel was “very dismissive and unapologetic” about the traumatic attack. So what has The Venetian Resort said about this? “The resort has protocols for all incidents and we can confirm they were followed in this incident.” Hmmm. I’m not sure what that means. Does it mean they have a protocol for allowing scorpions in their guests beds to sting them in the privates?

I have a feeling Farchi will get a nice settlement if his suit every gets to discovery.
