HOW CAN THE VACAVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT THINK IT’S OK FOR A COP TO BEAT HIS POLICE DOG?
So I’m going to need a lot more information on this despicable incident. Because the headline here is just as ugly as it sounds. A local resident in Vacaville, California went to their warehouse to get some tools when they heard a dog crying. And when they went to look, what they saw was horrifying. They saw a police officer kneeling on a police dog, beating it savagely. And yes, that is not being sensational. And despite what the video clearly shows, the Vacaville police department seems totally fine with that. And I really hope their official position to date will change under the outraged shitstorm it is sure to generate.

VACAVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REFUSES TO IDENTIFY OFFICER, SAYS BEATING WAS JUSTIFIED
So we know that the local citizen who shot the video knows that the cop beating his police stopped the beating as soon as he knew someone saw him. We know that the video clearly shows the cop furtively looking around to see if anyone was there to see him beating the police dog. We know that the Vacaville Police Department removed the police dog from this officer’s custody to a 3rd party’s care and won’t name the officer. But we also know that the Department has defended the officer’s beating of the K-9 dog, saying that the dog was being aggressive.

IF BEATING YOUR POLICE DOG IS ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE UNACCEPTABLE?
So here come some questions. What are the training protocols for the Vacaville Police Department for dealing with aggression from their K-9 animals? Do they include “grounding and pounding” a defenseless animal? Do those protocols parallel beating suspects who are compliant, or unable to resist police brutality? Because these two things look a hell of a lot alike. Was this dog saying “I can’t breathe” in those awful whimpers? And when will we learn this officer’s identity so we can see a history of part behavior on the job? Oh, and by the way, the citizen who shot the video didn’t confront the cop because he was afraid for his life if he did so.
Does the Vacaville Police Department have a comment on that, or answers to any of those questions? Because they need to, and soon.
