HIGH STAKES DEMOCRACY, AS TRUMP LOOKS TO CONTROL NOVEMBER ELECTION
The Midterm Elections are approaching fast, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. For the republic itself, the stakes are the future of American democracy. But for Donald Trump, the stakes are losing, legacy, impeachment and the literal possibility of spending his last remaining days wearing an orange jumpsuit in prison. So the now strong possibility of Republicans losing control of the House, and an increasing possibility of losing the majority in the Senate as well, has to be keeping Trump up at night. In other words, he desperately needs to control the November elections to insure a win.

A NATIONAL EMERGENCY WOULD LET TRUMP END MAIL-IN VOTING, REMOVE VOTING MACHINES
Before Trump’s political ascendance, saying this would easily fall into the histrionics of conspiracy theory. But now, it merely falls into the category of the obvious. Unfortunately, we now have confirmation of this via the Washington Post, which reported that a group of Trump allies have put together an executive order draft to keep the MAGA train rolling. The 17-page draft details how Trump could take control of the elections by declaring a national emergency, which would include the elimination of mail-in voting and would also remove voting machines before the November election.

This is actually being “shopped around,” to literally control the November election to make sure the likely Blue tsunami is instead a poisonous red tide. But what would the justification be to sell this? An intelligence assessment from 2021 that found China had considered trying to influence the 2020 election, but didn’t. Or, rather, Trump needs to declare a state of emergency to control the November election because of something that didn’t happen. Well, if you completely ignore Russia, of course.
But this is where we are, as an American armada waits for the green light to attack Iran, ICE continues to build concentration camps, and the Epstein Files remain a topic. The November election is coming. But who gets to vote and who counts the votes is an open question.
