DONALD TRUMP OFFERED WHITE MCENROE $1M TO PLAY, BEAT A BLACK WILLIAMS SISTER
No matter what happens, Trump always pushes the envelope. Trump drives current news with what he does every day. But we also keep learning of things he’s done in the past. He did this. Trump did that. And now, we have another item to add to the list. John McEnroe was on In Depth with Graham Bensinger recently and offered yet another mini bombshell. Donald Trump offered him $1M to play a match against either Venus or Serena Williams. It’s consistent Donald. Pit a man over a woman. Can you say it’s just patriarchal? Or is it just that Trump can’t stand strong women? Venus and Serena are certainly strong women. And, they both are totally unapologetic about being strong.

PLAY VENUS OR SERENA, $1M TO KICK ASS
But then there’s the issue of race. Did Donald do this because he wanted to see a white man put one or both of these black women in their place? Is it just too hard for Trump to see a successful black woman, never mind two? But these two ladies aren’t just successful in their field. They are dominant. They both have swagger. And they both became franchises, selling products based on their own personal power. Is that something just too much for Donald to stomach? It certainly seems so, if Trump tried to get one of the biggest faces in tennis to take the girls down a notch.

McEnroe said in his interview, “I was calling a match and suddenly I get this envelope, and it’s from Donald Trump, who is promoter galore. … So he wrote me a letter, it went, ‘Dear John, I want to offer you $1 million to play either Serena or Venus.” Obviously, McEnroe turned down the offer. He said he never wanted to play against a woman in a tennis match. But, McEnroe did firmly believe that (at the time) that he could have beaten either Serena or Venus. He was, after all, once the number one player in the world. But McEnroe isn’t crazy. He doesn’t think he has a chance against either of them today. His daughters also have serious doubts. According to McEnroe, they told him, “Dad, I don’t know if you can beat Serena.” He added, “I’m like, ‘God. I can’t even get my kids on my side.'”
That’s because you live in the now, John.
