So a lot of people don’t seem to be getting this. Sure, the breast is still a controversial object. But that’s just the thing. It’s not an object. But many can’t be objective about them. But for many women, they are an empowered part of their identity. Go figure. I mean, go figure! As a heterosexual man, I have definite opinions about breasts. But my opinions don’t include telling women how they should make choices about them. So I for one have no problem hearing about empowered women taking and posting topless pics of themselves in Colorado nature. As far as I’m concerned, they merely add to the tableau!

But some people just don’t get it. Others find it confusing. I’d guess they’re either men, or folks who exist in a mostly outdated patriarchal culture. They tend to find breasts disturbing. Well, if they’re not in their control, that is. But this trend isn’t totally new. It’s been growing for the last few years and shows no signs of tapering off. Colorado is one beautiful state. And naturists have long enjoyed being naked in nature. But feeling free is important. So if being topless in amazing natural settings empowers women, I’m all for it.

Besides, the pictures are great! They are a celebration of the self and amazing environments. This past summer, the topless nature pics have totally exploded. So if you’ve never done any serious hiking, you don’t know the thrill of getting to the top of a major climb or getting to a remote destination. And these topless nature pics all show us that achievement. But every woman has their own reason for celebrating themselves. Some are fighting illness. Others heartache from loss, or are confronting other issues like body acceptance. So I just hope that as this grows, so do people’s understandings and support.
