Texas Doesn’t Need to Protect Schools From Furries After All

FOR SOME REASON, SOME FOLKS THOUGHT FURRIES WERE A PROBLEM IN TEXAS SCHOOLS

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  That seems to be good advice in general.  But nowadays it sure seems to be spectacular advice when it come to governing.  But political platforms being what they are, it’s almost impossible for some folks desperate to scream into the bullhorn to practice it.  Because after all, screaming your beliefs isn’t about beliefs.  It’s about political “clicks,” or “please look at me!!!!”  How else do you explain that a bill in Texas was actually considered, one that would make furry behaviors illegal from schools.  And yes, it was a concerned Republican who wanted to protect our kids from furries.

SOME FOLKS MEANS TEXAS REPUBLICAN STAN GERDES, WHO INTRODUCED A BILL TO OUTLAW FURRIES

So to be fair, you may not have any idea what a furry is, never mind furries like a community or in this case a dastard and morally reprehensible plot to make our kids meow of have a poo in a litterbox.  No, it’s not a joke.  Because that would be furry behavior, acting like an animal.  But Texas Republican Stan Gerdes, from Smithville, thought it would be a good idea to introduce a bill to outlaw furries in Texas schools.  Because, obviously, the Lone Star State’s school children need protection from…. Furries and their influences.

THE PROBLEM?  TEXAS SCHOOLS DON’T HAVE FURRIES, OR STUDENTS POOING IN LITTERBOXES-WHEW!

Or do they?  Some other folks asked the same question in the form of asking Gerdes to give them some examples, or even one, where furries behavior was a problem anywhere in schools in Texas.  How about one?  And you guessed it, he couldn’t name a single instance of this being a problem or threat to Texas children.  The bill, fortunately, died in committee.  But not before the Superintendent Cheryl Burns had to tell Gerdes that there were no litter boxes, and even walked around a campus to confirm: no litterboxes for students to poo in.

And to think this whole silliness cost taxpayers money to consider.  But hey, kids peeing and pooing in litterboxes is an old conservative  conspiracy.  Evidently, it’s not old enough to forget.  Even political stupidity is  bigger in Texas.
