Scott Pruitt just can’t catch a break. Oh, wait. That’s not right. Scott Pruitt keeps catching breaks, and he keeps getting away with them. You’ve gotta at least know who Pruitt is as head of the EPA. And that’s the Environmental Protection Agency, by the way. Pruitt was always an odd choice to run the department as he seems to want to protect companies from the Earth and not the other way around. He’s had just a few scandals, shall we say. But now he’s dived into the deep end of the spiritual abyss too. The New York Times reported that Scott Pruitt met with a Cardinal who has been accused of sexual abuse. But even better? Your tax dollars paid for that lunch. It’s was a pedophile prix fixe.
PRUITT’S STAFF TRIED TO HIDE CARDINAL LUNCH SIN IN RECORDS, GOT BLOWN
This meal happened last summer. But Scott and his staff knew Cardinal George Pell was under investigation for sex abuse. Sex abuse, of course, meaning multiple accusations going all the way back to the 1970’s. But Scott made sure to have that lunch regardless. So why did Scott have his staff try to cover up the fact that he dined with a pedophile? Because that’s what they did. A FOIA request came up with the goods, or the bads as it were in this case. The meal started being planned in May of 2017. But Pruitt also was planning on getting a private tour of the Vatican with the pedophile priest. For some reason that never happened. But the gourmet lunch on the taxpayer’s dime certainly did.

They had the pricey lunch at La Terrazza, which evidently costs hundreds of dollars a plate. Scott and Cardinal Pell dined there together and it was part of Scott’s official trip. But why would the head of the EPA want to have lunch and shoot the breeze with a Vatican Cardinal facing multiple charges of pedophilia? Well, it seems that’s because Pell is also a “skeptic” of climate change. But clearly Scott and his staff knew that the meal with the pedophile didn’t look good. The FOIA request showed that the EPA release four different versions of Pruitt’s schedule detailing that particular day. For some reason none of them included Cardinal Pell’s name.
