NO PHONES UNTIL AFTER FOURTEEN
Bill Gates has three children, ranging in ages 15, 18, and 21. Teens and a young adult who were forbidden to have a phone until the age of 14 years-old. His kids complained a lot about other kids getting phones much earlier, but he stood his ground. He also feels online safety is very important. He doesn’t have a list of his children’s passwords but finds the tech world a tricky and serious issue. And it’s important to be strict.
SMARTPHONE ADDICTION IS REAL
Smartphone addiction is a real thing and a growing concern for parents, academics and people working in Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs also didn’t allow his kids to use IPads or IPhones at home. They are strict with tech rules and limited the use at home as well. What do they know that the rest of the world does not know?
KIDS BRAINS ARE CHANGING, FOR THE WORSE
Napster founder, Sean Parker explained that, “It literally changes your relationship with society, with each other.” And further clarified that, “It probably interferes with productivity in weird ways.” Recently two of Apple’s shareholders wrote an open letter expressing their concerns. THINK ABOUT IT
