Global Warming Update: Siberia Sees 100 Degree Temps

TOWN IN SIBERIA SEES RECORD TEMPS, OVER 100 DEGREES, GULAG NOT SO DAMN COLD ANYMORE

So global warming is still totally happening.  Sure, we’ve all got the Coronavirus reality these days, all over the world.  And here in the States, that looks to be true longer than we ever imagined.  But things like global warming are still going on, even though the world isn’t burning as much fossil fuels.  Well, except China.  They’re back up to full production.  But record temps are still popping up all over.  And now?  Now, the gulag is no longer the cold hellscape it used to be.  Now?  It’s a hot hellscape.  This past week, parts of Siberia saw temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  But that’s not the update on global warming we were ever hoping for.

GLOBAL WARMING IS STILL AN INESCAPABLE REALITY, AND SIBERIA IS FEELING THE HEAT

Siberia has been experiencing what we can only call a freak heatwave recently.  But Russia’s far north hasn’t ever really seen temperatures like this before.  Or, rather, the world has never seen temperatures in Siberia like this before.  We don’t have confirmation yet.  But this 100 degree spike is likely the hottest day we’ve ever seen there.  Like, ever.  And if this doesn’t freak you out yet, pay attention.  The town that saw this crazy heat was Verkhoyansk.  This town lies farther north than Fairbanks, in Alaska.  We’re talking far North, here.

TOWN IN SIBERIA TIED SO FAR WITH MIAMI FOR 100 PLUS TEMPS IN 2020

So far this year, Verkhoyansk has had just as many 100 plus degree days as Miami.  You know, in Florida.  A Siberian town!  Sure, Russia’s hottest year ever was just last year, in 2019.  But we’re well on our way to another record.  And not a good one.  Just last month, Siberia’s average temps were 40 degrees higher than average.  40.  So if that was happening in Miami, say, we’d be talking temps of 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit.  And as for Verkhoyansk, they did see their temperatures go back down last weekend.  All the way to 80.  But what would normal be?  Below zero at night.  And the coldest they’ve ever had at night there at this time of year was -90!

So much for the gulag.  Buy some shorts.
