SHOT DEAD BY ILLINOIS POLICE FOR DOING HIS JOB
And here we go again. No, this time it’s not another mass shooting. But it is a shooting, which means guns. Guns and police. Guns and police is often a deadly situation for black people who get shot dead. So if you think that’s an unfair critique, it means one or two things. One, you’re not black. Two, you haven’t been paying ANY attention. But if likely means both of those together. You may pay attention, but the facts don’t stick to your lying eyes. So. Here we go. Again. JEMEL ROBERSON HAD SUBDUED A SHOOTING SUSPECT WHEN POLICE KILLED HIM
This all went down in a bar in Midlothian, which is a suburb of Chicago. The bar was Manny’s Blue Room Lounge. So what happened? Security had asked several drunk people to leave the bar. But at least one of those drunk people came back with a gun and started shooting. At least one of the shooting victims was the bartender. So law enforcement from multiple agencies responded to the shooting at about 4am that morning. Three people, including shooter, were reported injured. But one security guard, Jemel Roberson, was able to subdue the shooter outside the bar.

PEOPLE WERE SCREAMING NOT TO SHOOT BLACK SECURITY GUARD, DIDN’T MATTER
It’s what happened next that turns your stomach. A cop from Midlothian arrived at the scene outside the bar. And that officer shot Jemel dead. A witness to the event, Adam Harris, described the scene, saying Jemel “had somebody on the ground … with his knee in back, with his gun in his back like, ‘Don’t move.’” When the cop arrived, the situation turned dire. Harris said, “We all yelled. ‘He’s a security. He’s a security,’ and without … giving any thought, they shot him.

The vest said security as well, … and they shot him in the side.” Get that? A black security guard did his job and subdued a drunk shooter. He was doing his job. He was protecting people, risking his own life. And police arriving to the scene shoot him dead, ignoring yells not to do so.
But Jemel is black, so here we go again. Another innocent black person shot dead by police. Why?
