School Teacher Asks for Raise From School Board, and Gets Arrested by Officer

SCHOOL TEACHER REMOVED FROM BOARD MEETING

It was a heck of a day at the local school board meeting in Louisiana. A middle school teacher was forcibly removed from a school board meeting for being out of order in handcuffs earlier this week. Why was she removed? She spoke out and complained about teacher pay.

The complainer, Deyshia Hargrave, an English and arts teacher who works at Rene Rost Middle School, verbally assaults school board members during “the public comments section” of the board meeting. She then is justly escorted out after making the same complaint for the second time.  She approached the speakers box and just wouldn’t shut up, the outcome, a scuffle with an officer in the hallway. School teacher vs cop in the hallway, quite a sight.

OFFICER HAD ENOUGH CUFFS TEACHER

The officer keeps telling her to “Stop resisting”, While placing her in handcuffs. She says to the officer: “I am not – you just pushed me to the floor. Sir, hold on, I am way smaller than you.”

How did all this start? School Board president Anthony Fontana ruled Hargrave “out of order” because she repeatedly asked several questions – and it was not a question and answer period, just for public comments. The school teacher raises her hand and offers a second comment and, asks another question, not a comment. Then an Abbeville city marshal escorted Hargrave out of the meeting.

ALL CALM IN SCHOOL BOARD ROOM, TEACHER DISRESPECTED OUTSIDE

It was outside the board room where the skirmished happened, inside a hallway, in what looked to be a school, and the cameras rolled. The woman gets handcuffs and escorted from the building.  It’s unclear if the marshal received orders from board members or if he was acting on his own. The superintendent of Vermillion Parish schools, of which Rene Rost Middle School is a part of, told The Blot that the school board will not press charges against Hargrave.
