RODEO BULL ESCAPES BULLRING IN DRAMATIC FASHION, INJURES 3 ON BRIEF RAMPAGE
I’ve always wanted to go to a rodeo. But it’s one of those things that just hasn’t been enough of a priority when I’ve actually been somewhere even near a rodeo. But this story may make me want to go even more, my Yankee status be-damned. There was a rodeo last week in Sisters, Oregon, and it had a little bit more than the usual drama of a limping cowboy or a rodeo clown narrowly escaping certain death. This time, a rodeo bull literally escaped the bullring by jumping over a section of fence, and took off out of the small arena. In the short time of his freedom, he injured 3 people, two of whom had to go to the hospital.

RODEO BULL HAS THE NAME PARTY BUS, BUT SHOULD BE RENAMED PARTY ANIMAL
The bull’s name (they all have names, personalities, and tendencies), is Party Bus. Party Bus clearly had an epiphany from one second to the next, and took a quick stride and leap in his dramatic escape. He ran away into a concession area, and then thru the event’s parking lot. The rodeo bull managed to injure 3 people, and I’m guessing one of the two who went to the hospital was the man that Party Bus launched into the air with his horns and slammed him into the ground. That had to hurt. A lot. I’ve been chased by a bull once in my life, and it was a close thing. But it wasn’t a pissed off rodeo bull.

IF YOU GO TO A RODEO, MAKE SURE TO SIT A NICE SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE BULLRING
Fortunately, none of the 3 people Party Bus injured were too badly hurt. That essentially means none of the injuries were life-threatening. But I’d imagine all 3 people will consider going to a chiropractor in the coming weeks. You know, once the plaster comes off. But the running of the bulls in Spain now has a new context for me with this little event. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) made a point of noting how no matter how high the fences are, just going to a rodeo could pose some risk. But I’ve got to say this makes me want to go to a rodeo even more, and maybe see some rogue rodeo bull drama.
But I’ll make sure to not sit anywhere in the first 10 rows…. Here’s the video of the escape.
