So I’m lucky enough to still be working from home. And yes, it has its challenges. More than a few. But some days, I just want to take a break from the realities I find with the walls and windows around me. But I don’t own a private jet I can take to my private, exclusive island. And surfing the internet can help, as well as social media. To a point. But how about an interesting adventure? If you’re sick of your Covid closeting, this may be a nice diversion. I’ve always wanted to go to Egypt and see so much that is there. Obviously, that’s not happening any time soon. But I, and you, can now pay a visit to the tomb of Pharaoh Ramesses VI. So who was Ramesses VI? His name was Nebmaatre-Meryamun, which is not easy to say. So, Ramesses VI is easier. He was the 5th pharaoh of the 20th Dynasty of Egypt. His reign was back in the 12th century, Before Christ. So, a long, long time ago. He actually stole his predecessor’s tomb for himself, and had it enlarged and totally redesigned for his own path to the afterlife. So there is a lot there to see, and enjoy. RAMESSES VI MAY HAVE HIDDEN SIX MORE TOMBS, AS YET UNDISCOVERED, WHICH WE MAY GET TO VISIT TOO
So this is only available because the Egyptian Tourism Authority has opened up the Valley of the Kings to the public in virtual reality. And with Ramesses VI, you can wander through the corridors of his tomb and see all the incredible hieroglyphs. But let’s not forget all the scenes depicting astrology everywhere, too. And, of course, you can get a detailed look at his restored sarcophagus, which is really something. But there’s more. This particular pharaoh may have more to offer us. History suggests Ramesses VI may have orchestrated six more tombs in the Valley of the Queens, as well. We haven’t found them yet. But when we do, we will likely get to see them with a virtual visit, too.
