Physicist Says Women Suck at Physics, at Gender Bias Talk

ITALIAN PHYSICIST OUTRAGES EVERYONE AT CERN GENDER BIAS TALK

Ok, I bet you guessed it.  The physicist who said women suck at physics is…. a man!  His name is Alessandro Strumia.  He’s a “prominent” physicist from Italy.  But he’s also clearly an idiot of the highest order.  How do we keep running into these stone walls of patriarchal stalwarts?  It’s kind of amazing, if disgusting.  Strumia gave the speech at a workshop put together by CERN.  CERN is the organization of researchers who oversee the Large Hadron Collider.  It’s that weird device that some people thinks will destroy the world.  But CERN hosted a workshop on Gender Bias in the field.  So why was this jackass allowed to participate?

HE SAID WOMEN NEVER AS GOOD AS MEN AT PHYSICS, MEN THE REAL VICTIMS OF GENDER BIAS

Strumia literally addressed up and coming women scientists and talked to them about the dangers of gender equality. The dangers?  What dangers?  He also talked about “cultural Marxism” in science fields.  He said that women can’t be as good at physics as men.  And, drum roll, he said that it’s actually male scientists like himself who are the victims of gender discrimination.  Was it just yesterday that Trump said it’s a dangerous time to be a young man?  So can you see the pattern here?  Strumia maintained that women get jobs that should go to more qualified men who get passed over.

While Strumia was just one of 38 scientists that CERN invited to speak, his offensive remarks are echoing around the world of science.  Stumia offered a list of reasons why women don’t measure up to men as phycycists.  None of them hold any water, be it steam, liquid or frozen solid.  Many women scientists have taken to Twitter to express their outrage.  But the backlash is even larger than that.  CERN pulled slides from Strumia’s presentation as soon as the backlash began online.  They  called them “highly offensive.”  Then CERN announced that it was suspending Strumia from “any activity at CERN with immediate effect, pending investigation into last week’s event.”
