German Pastor Holds May the 4th Be With You Service

THIS GERMAN PASTOR CELEBRATED MAY THE 4TH BY HAVING SERVICE DRESSED AS A JEDI KNIGHT

It’s May 4^th! So May the 4^th Be With You, Always! And while it’s possible you don’t know what I’m talking about, it is unlikely. Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, and even if you’re under 25 and have never even seen any kind of Star Wars media, you should at this point know the importance of this day. Because all your nerd friends are geeking out today, and every year more and more Star Wars themed fun is happening all over the world. But I never thought a pastor in Germany would have a Star Wars themed Sunday service!

SERVICE FEATURED A MILLENNIUM FALCON, A LIGHTSABER DUEL, AND CONGREGANTS DRESSED IN THEME

As you can see from the picture above, the German pastor went all the way. The church had special effects smoke, fancy stage lighting and even a Millennium Falcon Hanging at the front. And Pastor Samuel Dörr dressed as a Jedi Knight while carrying a lightsaber! And this Jedi’s flock consisted of about 60 people in the pews, and some of the worshippers came to the service dressed in Star Wars themed attire (aka costumes, cosplay). It was a church service unlike any I’ve ever heard of, and certainly never been to!

THIS PASTOR IS YET ANOTHER STEP IN MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU BRINGING IN A LARGER AUDIENCE

Pastor (Jedi) Samuel Dörr held service in his church in Bensberg, which is in the western-German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. If that doesn’t inform you, it’s not too far from Cologne. It’s a sure sign of the times where every year, May the 4^th will continue to offer fun surprises all over the world, even where you least expect them. But California has been all-in for years now. In 2007, the LA City Council declared this day to be Star Wars Day. And the entire California Legislature did the same state-wide in 2019.
