Omen or Amen  Kawhi Unworn Playoff Jersey for Auction.

UNWORN KAWHI LEONARD SPURS PLAYOFF JERSEY UP FOR SALE

It’s salt in the wound for Spurs fans.  But if you didn’t know, this past year wasn’t a good one for fans of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.  Their star player, Kawhi Leonard, has essentially gone AWOL.  Leonard played only nine games this season.  But he was injured.  The Spurs cleared him to play.  Leonard’s second medical opinion said he shouldn’t play.  So Leonard didn’t play, except for nine games mid-season before he, not the Spurs, shut it down.  Leonard’s teammates cajoled him into playing.  Leonard refused.  But the team kept hope alive and had a mint playoff jersey ready to go.  Leonard never wore it.  Now, the jersey is up for auction.  Is this a sign of things to come?  I could be an omen.

OMEN OF THINGS TO COME?  NO ONE KNOWS AND NO ONE IS SAYING

Leonard’s teammates tried to get him to come back over two months ago, but he wasn’t feeling it.  He never felt it thru his team’s demise in the first round of the playoffs.  The league is now in the Conference Finals and every single day people are talking about Kawhi.  So does he want out of the Spurs?  Do the Spurs want to trade Kawhi?  But Kawhi isn’t saying, and neither are the Spurs.  Spurs head coach Greg Popovich just lost his wife a few weeks ago.  Supposedly he and Kawhi have remained in contact via text.

WHERE WILL KAWHI BE AT THE END OF THE SUMMER?  EVERYONE HAS AN IDEA, NO ONE HAS A CLUE

For now we don’t know anything.  Leonard might be in Boston, Philadelphia or who the hell knows where next season.  All we do know is that the playoff jersey basketball fans wish had been worn but wasn’t, is up for auction.  Someone will own it on May 31st.  Will it be an icon of Leonard’s departure?  Or will it simply be a footnote in Kawhi’s Spurs legacy?  Of course, the jerseys of all the other Spurs who played in Game 1 against the Warriors are also up for auction.  But no one is talking about those.  Spurs fans hope this isn’t an omen pointing to Leonard’s departure.  But the clock is ticking.
