OLD CODGER IN OKLAHOMA ATTACKED BY KILLER BEES FOR THREE HOURS SOMEHOW SURVIVES
I gotta say that this older man in Oklahoma is kind of my hero. For one, he was mowing his lawn at the age of 81. For another, he kept his cool during an ordeal that would leave most people shaking like pudding for the rest of their lives. Carlos Amos was mowing his lawn in Maysville last week when a horde of killer bees attacked him. That right there is a crazy and scary story. But when he tried to run away, he fell and broke his hip, leaving him prone on the ground, in pain, and subject to the bees continuing to attack him for 3 long, agonizing hours.

OLDER MAN FIRST FELL AND BROKE HIS HIP, LEAVING HIM HELPLESS TO KILLER BEES
But somehow Carlos Amos survived his three-hour long killer be attack as well as a broken hip. A neighbor finally saw what was going on and heroically fought the bees off before calling 911 for help. But help did arrive, taking Amos to the hospital for live-saving treatment. When he arrived at the hospital, he still had over 200 Africanized killer bee stingers sticking into his body. He suffered stings in his ears, up his nose, on his lips and even one in his eye. And, of course, all over his body where the killer bees could reach him to sting.

OLD CODGER IS MY HERO THIS WEEK, THOUGH HE CAN’T GO HOME TILL KILLER BEES SAFELY REMOVED
During the attack, Amos took a tissue and put it in one ear as a shield. But then they flooded his other ear. By the time he got a tissue in the other ear, they were in his nose, too. But again, this guy is my hero. About when he fell, he said, “I knew I had broken my leg because I heard it pop, so I though this is not good.” Not good. Indeed! But Amos is a survivor, and an impressive one. But he can’t even go home, besides after recovering from the attack and hip surgery, until the bees’ nest is safely removed and the Africanized killer bees are gone.
