Italian Octogenarian Woman Befriended a Fox To Survive 4 Days in the Wild

AN ITALIAN OCTOGENARIAN WOMAN SURVIVED 4 DAYS IN THE WILD WITH INJURIES AND BEFRIENDED A FOX

Wild survival stories never get old, especially when the survivor is really old.  And by wild, I mean to say in nature, lost, possibly injured, alone and scared.  And this wild survival story involves it all, as it was an Italian Octogenarian woman who somehow managed to survive 4 days lost in the woods.  Her name is Giuseppina Bardelli, and the 88-year-old was out looking for mushrooms with her son near her home village of Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca when she got lost.  She became a bit confused at her circumstances and fell, breaking ribs and tearing one of her lungs.  And somehow, her wild survival story involves how she befriended a fox!

FOX KEPT INJURED ELDERLY WOMAN COMPANY AS SHE PRAYED FOR HELP TO ARRIVE

Her son Roberto grew concerned after they got separated and immediately contacted local authorities for help.  But it still took 4 days for them to find the elderly Bardelli.  Appaerntly, she was able to stay somewhat hydrated by drinking rainwater in puddles she found.  And in the 3 nights in the wild, she slept under trees and covered herself with available vegetation to keep warm.  But then, there was also the fox, who came up to her several times.  Her son Roberto said she and the fox, “They sort of became friends.”

AMAZING SURVIVAL STORY BRINGS BACK THE QUESTION: WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY?

I can’t imagine what this must have been like for her to survive 4 days like that as an octogenarian woman, especially with injuries as painful as broken ribs, with a torn lung making it even harder to breathe.  Mrs. Bardelli is still recovering in the hospital which is no surprise, as those injuries would be serious for someone at any age, compounded by exposure to the elements, little water, and no food.  And while you and many others have likely already thought the question, no, Giuseppina Bardelli has not yet revealed “What Does the Fox Say?”

I’ll be waiting to hear.
