WAYS YOU CAN GET NON-VOTERS REGISTERED SO THEY CAN VOTE
We all know people who aren’t registered to vote, and we all know that the largest group of potential Democrats are those non-voters. So it’s time to get registering. There are lots of ways that folks can participate in the VERY IMPORTANT upcoming midterm elections. People can volunteer for Swing Left and go to their nearest purple district and try to flip it blue. And people can canvass for the local Dems in their states who are running for office. People can join Knock Every Door so they have a group with which to organize. So there are LOTS of ways to make a difference. But the most important way you can help out this election season? GET NEW VOTERS REGISTERED. Here’s how:

1. Throw a party at your house and invite all your friends. Make food and bring drinks and make it fun. Then make sure that absolutely everyone there is registered to vote. Try to make sure that no one leaves your party without registering.
2. Set up a booth outside a large grocery store where lots of people go in and out all day long. Be friendly and excited and try to get as many people to register as you can.
3. So find ways to make the process of registering as quick, easy and simple as possible. It’s important that people don’t have to spend too long doing it, otherwise they will have a negative association with voting and may not go to the polls at all!
4. Then hang out on college campuses or near where there are lots of recent 18-year olds. Don’t be creepy, but do try to get them to register to vote. Young people are the hardest demographic to get to the polls. Obama won because young people were excited by him and came out to vote. We need the young voters again now.
